Service Location Description:
From Cathedral Square in the centre of the city, take Worcester Street and walk in a easterly direction for one block. Cross Manchester Street and continue down Worcester Street. Liverpool Street is the first turn on the right past the offices of Work and Income NZ. Turn into Liverpool Street and the Rodger Wright Centre is on the ground floor, 20 metres down the street on the left. Look for the signs for "City Garage"
Services:
Outreach Service; Specialised workers offer help and advice for people who inject drugs, operates office hours only.
Magazine: Regular bi-monthly peer based harm reduction based magazine for injecting drug users called "Mainline"
Electronic Dispenser; Provides service access outside normal office hours. Products include a variety of injection equipment, wheel filters, sterile water, tourniquets, returns containers and condoms.
An Access Code is required to use this service, the code is curently: 6666. The dispenser operates on gold coins only i.e. $1 and $2 coins ONLY. Returns discounts are not available when using the dispenser and prices of equipment are higher than those charged through the office in order to cover the operational costs of the dispenser service.
Methadone Monitoring Group; A methadone consumer lobbying group campaigning at all levels for better service provision for people receiving methadone maintenance.
